Newsletter archive - introduction and explanations
- Every year the Reigate Society publishes three newsletters, both as paper copies and by posting on this site. The newsletters are distributed to most members as paper copies. The exceptions are where a member has specifically requested not to receive a paper copy, and chooses instead to rely on the copy posted on this site. Usually about 10 of the most recent newsletters are stored on the site.
- Newsletters on this site are in so-called Adobe Portable Document Format (or PDF format), also referred to as Adobe or Acrobat format. This format is often used on WEB sites to store documents for display. To display the newsletters, you need to have an up to date version of a piece of software called Adobe Reader installed on your PC. Most fairly modern PCs will have this software already installed on them.
- If when you try and display a newsletter you get an error message like "Windows cannot open this file", then you probably haven't got Adobe Reader installed on your PC. Clicking on "Cancel" in the bottom right hand corner of the small window displaying the error message will get you out of trouble. If you are confident about these things, clicking on the Get Adobe Reader icon will take you to the Adobe WEB site where you can download a free copy of Adobe Reader for installation on your PC. If you are not confident, get your PC support specialist to do this for you.
