Title of Talk The Holmesdale Building Society Guest Speaker Kevin Morgan
Venue Woodhatch Centre, Whitebeam Drive, off Hornbeam Road, Reigate, RH2 7LS.
Additional Information Kevin Morgan became the Chief Executive of the Holmesdale Building Society in 2004.
The Society was formed in 1855. Its first office was in Church Street, Reigate, where it remains to this day as an independent mutual building society.

Title of Talk Mediaeval Reigate Guest Speaker John Howe
Venue Holmesdale School, Alma Road, Reigate, RH2 0BY.
Additional Information John Howe is a long standing local resident and a member of the Reigate Society.
He has made a study of pre Tudor Reigate, about which there is little published information.

Title of Talk Brickwork in Surrey up to 1841 Guest Speaker Ian West
Venue Priory School, Bell Street, Reigate, RH2 7RL.
Additional Information Ian West is a surveyor who has specialised for over thirty years in the restoration of historic buildings.
Although the Romans had brickworks in Surrey, the manufacture of bricks in the county then lapsed and was not revived until mediaeval times. Ian's talk will cover the production of bricks and their use in building design up to the abolition of the brick tax in 1841.

Additional Information Brenda Lewis was formerly Surrey County Council's Gardens Officer.
She has an unparalleled knowledge of the history of Surrey's parks and gardens.

Title of Talk Surrey Treasures - The Work of the Portable Antiquities Scheme in Surrey Guest Speaker David Williams
Venue Redhill UR Church Hall, Shaw's Corner, Hatchlands Rd, Reigate, RH1 6AU.
Additional Information The Portable Antiquities Scheme is a voluntary scheme recording archaeological objects found by members of the public.
It provides an important source of understanding about our past.
David Williams is the Finds Liaison Officer in Surrey.

Title of Talk Heathers and Heathland Guest Speaker Chris Howkins
Venue Redhill UR Church Hall, Shaw's Corner, Hatchlands Rd, Redhill, RH1 8AU.
Additional Information Chris Howkins will be talking about heathland plants and the ways in which people used them in the past.
His planned talk to the Society in 2007 was cancelled because of bad weather, so we will be watching the barometer closely!
