Title of Talk W E Johns (Author of the Biggles Books) at Home Guest Speaker Roger Davies
Venue Woodhatch Centre, Whitebeam Drive, off Hornbeam Road, Reigate, RH2 7LS.
Additional Information Roger Davies is the Chairman and magazine editor of the Captain W E Johns Appreciation Society. He is the former Chief Executive of a London wide public body, Principal Secretary of the Royal Stuarts Society and an active member of various historical, literary and heritage organisations.
He will be talking about houses lived in by Captain W E Johns, author of the famous and popular Biggles adventure books for boys. The Society has recently placed a blue plaque on the house in Colley Manor Drive, Reigate, where W E Johns lived from 1938 to 1947.

Title of Talk Pilgrims Way or North Downs Way? Guest Speaker Tony Gowers
Venue The Priory, Bell Street, Reigate.
Additional Information Ancient trackway or modern trail? The Pilgrims Way ran from Winchester to Canterbury, whilst the North Downs Way covers the 153 miles from Farnham to Dover.
Tony Gowers is the North Downs Way National Trail officer and is based in Maidstone.

Title of Talk How Nutfield Buildings Show Their Age Guest Speaker Peter Finch
Venue Reigate Parish Church School, Blackborough Road, Reigate.
Additional Information Peter Finch is the secretary of the Nutfield History Group.
He will use two screens to display photographs and diagrams of buildings, which in many cases are so altered that only a few clues remain as to the original plan.

Venue St Matthew's C of E Primary School, Linkfield Lane, Redhill.
Additional Information Chris Howkins has researched the use of plants in Britain for forty years.
He will talk about heathland plants and the ways in which people used them in the past.

Title of Talk Reigate Rocks! Key to Landscape, Environment & Resources Guest Speaker Richard Selley
Venue St Marks Church Hall, Alma Road, Reigate.
Additional Information Richard Selley is an Emeritus Professor of Imperial College. He has employed his expertise in sedimentology in such diverse fields as oil prospecting and viticulture.
He will give his locally well-known and entertaining talk on the geology of the Reigate and Dorking area and the raw materials it contains.

Title of Talk The Reigate Priory Murals - A Who-dunnit Guest Speaker John McInally
Venue Redhill UR Church Hall, Shaw's Corner, Redhill.
Additional Information John McInally is the Borough's Senior Conservation Officer. He carried out extensive historical research in connection with the successful lottery bid for re-modelling Priory park.
In this talk he concentrates on the Priory murals and the mystery as to which artist was responsible for them.
